Valley View Farms has a long-standing relationship with pumpkins. Decades ago, we grew what we sold, enough to sell: "All you can carry in your two arms for $1".
In 1989, we had our first world record holder, weighing 755 pounds. Today the stage holds "Action Jackson" at 1822 pounds. The world record holders now are over a ton and closing in on 3,000 pounds.
It's October, and we are officially pumpkin crazy! We always have been. The world is too. Events like Garden Glow at Ladew celebrate pumpkin carving and art.

For years, we've delivered press releases about our huge pumpkin to area media outlets, along with a handcrafted, costumed pumpkin.
We have paint-your-own pumpkin workshops for the kids.
Have pumpkin carving parties.
Use pumpkins as planters.
Create dried-flower gardens atop pumpkins.
Plant whole pumpkins with succulents that eventually root into the pumpkin and have to be transplanted.
The variety of pumpkins available to us has grown exponentially.
So we keep finding new uses.

And so far, we're only talking about decorating with them. The culinary world has gone bonkers over pumpkins too.
